the next exit which is tinkham rd is also where i took a bunch of pics.
the sm did way better on tinkham.
your bike would do fine on 38 once the snow melts i suspect.
i saw lots of bear scat out the exit 38 road so pack some heat or go with a friend(me).

Well Ben Howard is a bust.

260th SE was a bust
176th was a bust
Cedar Ponds Rd was the only one that had promise, but with all the gates, no go. Couldn't believe all the houses way the fuck out there.

I guess next up will be carnation. Heared it's not so good out that way neither.
*inspector is thinking he should have written down the cwr(?)# posted so he could look up what the fine is for trespassing. (most of the gates you could get a bike under)

Well Carnation/Duvall/Fall City areas where all pretty much a bust.

One spot was pretty cool. Followed a long road to a dead end so turned around. Toward the beginning of the road spotted a little trail going off into the woods. Figured screw it, nobody was around. Pretty cool single track, really short that turned into a horse trail, which turned into some roads. Made it over a couple of logs. The third one I had to turn around because I was scrapping bottom and don't have a skid plate. Fun but not really worth the ride.
Snoqualmie trials....hmmm, there was one spot but the gate was open and figured someone was in the area. Found a trail that goes around the gate that was pretty cool.
(didn't have a map so didn't make it out to Cherry valley)
Guess next spots to look at will be....Index, North Bend, Carbon River. Maybe a little Walker ORV, Granit Falls.

Honestly pretty much coming up empty. These Hundreds of thousands of miles of trails/gravel roads Pete is talking about......Uhp.....don't believe it.

There is lots of areas to ride, problem is its winter and the snow line is real low. This summer if your game i can take you out to the Gifford, best riding, most scenic area i have ever rode on.

I would be so in for that. Just trying to find local stuff to practice on.

*edit---really need gear before something like that though. Unless it's just lowland tracks like in the pic.

I wrote a hate mail to DNR, (ok not really, it was more of give me a key to the gates, ok not really, it was more of a "let me in, now".welll......it was close to that.

My response so far.

From: DNR RE SOUTHPUGET REGION (southpuget.region@dnr.wa.gov)
"I am going to forward your email to Sam Jarrett who is the recreational manager for our Snoqualmie Unit. His cell phone number is (206) xxx-xxxx"

^^That was a bust. Really nice guy and tried to be helpful, but wouldn't budge. I do have one other person to try and get in touch with, but outcome will be the same I'm sure.

Thinking of either North Bend or Cherry Valley this weekend, (hell, even kicking around the possibility of putting around Reiter). Thoughts?

I think I'm gonna have my wife take it down for a tranny and front diff service at some point soon....the rest I can do....
