There is talk that some moron almost dropped a bike they weren't supposed to be on.

oh yeah, PNWRiders has been banned from the event. no more press passes beginning next year for any Cycle World event.

why did i report it? because this year's show was 1/3 smaller than last year's event. dont blame "few releases"... there were more new releases this year than last. many displays were made smaller than previous years due to guests disrespecting the exhibitors' requests... like no sitting on certain fucking bikes. theft has caused a lot of local vendors to not bother with the show... and considering how slow the season was, there's thousands of leftover inventory sitting on local dealer shelves. but they still found theft from the show to outweigh the benefit of moving merchandise.

i just spent a bit of time talking with vendors and exhibitors on sunday, since i noticed the show was much smaller than last year, with much smaller displays.

cyclebarn's accessories display was less than 1/3 of its size compared to last year. all the vendors in the back part of the exhibition center were almost non-existent, plus their inventory was "strategically placed" to minimize peoples' ability to access the gear on display.

granted, the weather played a huge part in the low attendance at the show, but overall foot traffic was reduced. people didnt stay as long as before. and those who did brave the elements to go were hugely unimpressed as there were no redeeming qualities to the show.

i actually feel bad doing this, but shit... the continued bragging on that thread and poor excuses further shows the level of disrespect for OTHER PEOPLES' PROPERTY by those involved.

and considering daniel's extremism about people even touching his ZX-10R, he should be the first to understand... like last year when his tire got tagged at XXX and he nearly burst into tears about it.

as long as you ALMOST squish a display girl in the process, it's ok.

Don't feel bad, I think Daniel and all those involved need to know that what they did was inexcusable. And as you point out, Daniel of all people cant stand to have his STOCK, PERFECTLY REPLACEABLE KAWI!!!! touched, but will climb on a priceless racebike shows a huge level of immaturity.

I think that with Cycle World banning them next season they might all learn a lesson.

Well, maybe.

the show has been on a downward spiral for a couple of years. I don't know if it is just in the NW or all over, I am sure stupidity and money has played a roll in it. I look back to the first couple of years and all the promo stuff that was given out was cool and plentyfull, and then the last couple of years you are lucky to get a couple of posters excpet for our Oakie who got us passes and lanyards (sp) which by the way everyone was asking me where we got them, even other dealerships where like those are cool we have some but we have to sell for $5 them

I posted over there my feelings on the event, and interestingly, Daniel responded.

Last 2 posts.

Really?

I missed that part.

I'll have to go back and take a look, think Cycle World has contacted him yet?

they wont. the liability factor is on the shoulders of the manufacturers involved.

but they will decline any app for a press pass under PNWRiders and all associated website names that they have a list of, including Random Computers.

That is what I was wondering, if they would let him know they are banned now, or just next year when they go to get passes.

But he did edit it all out.

PNWRiders is such a tiny media entity that they're not going to get served any "press release" from Cycle World. or even a personal note from them about the matter, mainly to avoid any chance of legal issues. they will just be declined a pass for the future.

the photo is hosted on the pnwfx.smugmug.com website, and beans probably edited the original photo, therefore the new, edited version shows up at that link.

but here's the original:
