Dipstick

only yamahahahahas have dipsticks in the oil fill cap.

the dipstick on a honda is the guy riding it.



























ok, all modern bikes have an oil sight glass. it's viewable through a porthole in the right fairing on the CBR600RR. should be around the 5 o'clock location, just forward of the clutch cover.

something tells me shot glasses are more your thing.


and be aware that the bike must be sitting exactly perpendicular on level ground to get a proper reading from the sight glass.

if you dont have a rear stand, hold it up by hand but make sure you're perfectly perpendicular to the ground or you'll get an incorrect reading... if there's any question, dont "top off" the oil.

Why don't they just place the window a little lower so the bike can lean and it can be read on the side stand?

Because that would be too easy..
Really, think about that though.. When you check your oil in your car you should be on level ground. Only difference is you gotta put the bike upright. You'd never get an accurate reading with the bike leaned over either. Even if the sight glass was lower..

Yah. Bike was on kickstand first...no oil. Put it on the rear stand...too much oil. Put on the fron stand...ahhh just right. A little murky...will change next weekend.
