Ride Sunday. Jan 28th

Guess we're going around 101, Hood Canal back down to Bremerton and across the ferry..

Meeting at RMC Renton.. Google it if ya don't know where it is.

Leaving there at 10:00AM

Get there a bit early fueled up and ready to go.
There's 2 gas stations a couple of blocks south of RMC...

We will have a ride meeting before hand.. Just to go over basic crap, hand signals, ride ettiquite, PASSING... (EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF) NOT... Anyway..

I'll get info on the ride length and stuff up here in the next couple of days..
I DO NOT POST MAPS...So don't ask.

i think 6-10 is more than enough, i really dont want it to turn out to b like most group rides, a mass of dudes doing stupid shit ALL the time trying to show off. theres just a time and place for it all

One thing you'll learn REALLY FAST about my rides. I don't tolerate that shit at all. I'll ask people to leave and find their own way home if that starts happening. I've only actually had to do that once. But I will. All but 1 ride last year was good. People behaved themselves. On the 1 ride I had some punk doing wheelies down Hwy167. When we got to Orville I confronted the 1 that was doin the wheelies.

If I do a ride, NO-ONE will jepordize the safety of the GROUP. PERIOD.. Ya, I'm an ass.
Or for that matter increase the chances of the group getting a ticket because of one assholes antics.

Hmmmm.
For those of you that I PMed the message to.
This site is run by Mike (aka Repsol).
He's got a pretty cool deal going here.
Lets play nice.

Of course the group that we have are a pretty low key bunch. That is except oak and I. You got the worst of it already Mike.

So, I mapped it out here at work. Seems it's not as long a ride as I thought it was. So 10am will work.

Hit Quilcene around 1 or so. Have lunch and head towards the Ferry. Probably get to the Bainbridge Is ferry around 3pm or so... Well, that's how S&T has it anyway..

That's also doing backroads to the south and staying off I-5. I hate I-5. Hit Orville rd and my usual route to get over towards Hwy7 and parts west.

Oh forgot to mention. The loop from RMC to the ferry is right around 200mi.. Not too bad for a first ride... Especially with all the damned NOOBS with us.

JayT is headed south.. Oak has other plans... John is sick right now and doesn't know.
Not real familiar with Duvnul and Pumbah or whatever that was. Oh, should probably PM Molverine, he was at the end of the table. Whitfire (sat next to you) is having surgery on her teeth Fri and might come depending on how she feels.

Exclamation Watch Out For Gravel!!

A Public Service announcement brought to you by Katana on behalf of the Washington State Patrol.

But seriously folks.... I just went up to the local coffee house to get my "fix" and there were two (pretty cool) State Patrol officers sitting there with their motorcycles parked outside. I started talking to them about riding in general and made a remark that I would be in a group ride this Sunday.

The senior officer (boasting 15 years on the job riding experience) made it a point to caution our group against the biggest obvious threat on the road right now, GRAVEL!

He went on to say that several reports from other officers have come in that the roads are very dangerous for bikes right now. I bet you will never guess where they said most of the reports are coming from??? That's right folks, the Peninsula where we will be riding.

I know this post may seem like it is over-stating the point but if just one person pays more attention because of it then that would be great.

Oh, ya.. I sat and talked to a Sherrif last night for about 1/2hr... Yes, the roads are crap. We all know it. That's why the ride won't be as SPIRITED as we would normally would do. I doubt there will be any high speed cornering like I like. We'll see though. 101 is a pretty twisty road in spots.. Hopefully they didn't sand the crap out of it. If they did we'll just have to take it easy, like I already figured we would have to do.

Hey Repsol... The funny thing is that I didn't mention where our ride would be. The officers brought up the Pennisula all on their own.

Not really. They know this time of year that most of the stuff up towards the hills (east) is pretty nasty and still snow in areas.. So what other direction are we gonna go?? West of course.. Unless you wanted to go up around the MONROE area... I can get us lost for hours up there on some pretty sweet roads.. But, they'd be about the same sand wise. Maybe one of them is a member or knows someone who is. Hell, I dunno.
